Yvonne Cox

Yvonne Cox currently serves the Boston and Las Vegas areas as a freelance harpist. Influenced by various musical genres and artistic mediums, she strives to contribute and inspire creativity in the world through music, both in performance and through collaborations. Yvonne frequently performs in the many ensembles such as the Boston Lyric Opera, the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra and experimenting with sounds with her flute duo, Y2K.

Ms. Cox has also had the pleasure of playing with festival orchestras throughout the United States and Canada including the PRISMA Festival Institute Orchestra, Miami Classical Music Festival, and Brevard Music Center Orchestra where she performed with Ricky Skaggs.

Yvonne’s greatest joy of performing has been original scores along with the movie. She’s performed some of the greatest movies of all time, including “E.T.”, “The Wizard of Oz”, and “Frozen”. This summer, she performed “Jaws In Concert” with the Cape Symphony Orchestra at Martha’s Vineyard as part of a month-long “Jaws” party to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

In 2023, Yvonne was thrilled to join the Henderson Symphony Orchestra's season of “Heroes” as “The Harp Girl”. She was featured as a soloist for the season, performing the fiery score of Alberto Ginastera’s “Harp Concerto”.

Yvonne obtained her Master of Music from the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Jessica Zhou, Principal Harpist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and her Bachelor of Music from University of Arizona, where she studied with Dr. Michelle Gott.  In her free time, she enjoys gushing over any and all animals that cross her path and pretending to be a celebrity chef in her kitchen.
